Post Production Audio Engineer
Not everyone has the opportunity to have a second chance in life – I am one of the lucky ones. After many years of busting my back, daily sore muscles, early morning starts and labour-intensive carpentry work; I took a leap of faith and decided to follow my dream of becoming an Audio Engineer.
I’ve always worked hard to gig harder, so whilst it may seem like a complete left field career change, music and audio has always been my number one passion and I would spend every last penny I had on seeing live music, making sounds and watching creative people make music in a new way.
Now, after studying the Bachelor of Audio at SAE Institute, I know I’m exactly where I’m meant to be. I loved every moment of my studies and have been fortunate to work with some inspiring artists, creators, industry people and mentors already in such a short time. I’m looking forward to seeing where this takes my future.
Random things about me.
- I’ve been to nine Splendour in the Grass festivals (in a row)
- It took me 16 years of Carpentry to realise it wasn’t my calling (eek!)
- I’m a proud Dad of two (1 years old and 20)
- I’m a spoilt only child, even in my late 30’s
- I’m a keen vinyl collector with well over 500 vinyls in my collection
- I surf in my spare time
- My favourite past time used to be searching the internet for synths, this has now moved on to audio engineering equipment
